Lisinopril is the generic blood-pressure pill behind Prinivil and Zestril. It is famous for $4 lists because the tablets really are cheap to buy. If your insurance still wants $40 or $47 for a 90-day fill, cash — or that $4 list, if the store still offers it — is worth asking for before they run the claim.
10 mg once daily is a typical maintenance dose. 2.5, 5, 20, 30, and 40 mg exist too; combinations with hydrochlorothiazide are a different drug. Price the strength on your bottle. For 10 mg tablets, a 90-day cash fill is usually a few dollars plus a dispensing fee, not tens of dollars.
