Announced timeline, not a completed data rollout. The October 7, 2026 interagency guidance describes the expected milestones below. We last checked it on October 19, 2026.
| When | Announced milestone | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| November 2026 | Schema development expected to begin | A format is being developed; this is not a price release. |
| Around May 2027 | Initial Rx schema release expected | Publishers can implement the agreed structure. |
| December 2027 | Initial Rx-file disclosure expected | Actual files would need validation before comparison. |
| Monthly thereafter | Subsequent Rx-file disclosures expected | A scheduled release is not real-time pricing. |

How we will assess a new source
We will check the released specification, product identifiers, units, date periods, missing values, and permitted uses before importing a new dataset. An announced deadline does not imply that RxCompare already collects that source or can calculate your personal benefit.
