How the calculation works
Cash total = pharmacy cash quote + additional fees. Difference per fill = insurance cost − cash total. Repeated-fill difference = difference per fill × number of identical fills.
A worked example
A $12 cash quote with $5 shipping totals $17. Compared with a $25 copay, cash is $8 lower for that fill. Four identical fills would produce a $32 difference if prices and fees stay the same. These are illustrative amounts, not pharmacy offers.
